Life is still good.

Another bday has come and gone and I am sure I see a new wrinkle.  ;)  I am not complaining too much about that as someone in the office said I looked 35.  I know she was pulling my leg a bit but still.  I'll take what I can get these days.

I'm reminded more and more these days about how you really have to embrace what you have and remind yourself that in the grand scheme of things, life is pretty damn awesome.  There are so many people around me who are fighting through something or dealing with situations that none of us want to ever have to work through.  And yet they are doing it with such bravery and courage.  Sure we all have "those days" when we just want to vent or whine but as soon as I feel that coming on, I try to remember the things that bring happiness into my life.  Friends, family, sports and time.  Not everyone has those things.

On the workout front, things are going really well.  When I started really paying attention to what I was eating back in winter of 2012/13 I weighed in at just under 200lbs.  Sure I was full of muscle but still, I had some softness that didn't need to be there.  As of my weigh in last Friday (someone else looks at the scale), I am almost at my goal of being under 180lbs.  I think the words were "your right at the borderline".  Which I take to mean that I must be about 182 or 181.  Anyway, I'm not too concerned about the number but it will be nice to know I have met a numeric goal.  I don't have as much time to hit the gym these days as I am playing tennis each day, sometimes twice, but I do my best to squeeze in some time whenever I can.  I still think it is a key factor to the success in any program.  I have eating pretty much under control but it still challenges me from time to time.  Thankfully I have inspiration that keeps me in check.

Heading back to the states soon for a bit of shopping.  Need new clothes as some are getting a bit big for me now.  Awesome.  Then heading back labour day weekend to Louisville.  Can't wait for that.

So for now I'm enjoying the summer, even the rainy days, and gearing up for travels to the states and to Mexico in the winter.  Can not wait for that trip.
