NOT too much to ask.

This is a dear friend of mine.  She is an inspiration and suffers daily with unbelievable pain.  Her friends and family are trying to donate money so that she can undergo a special surgery in the USA.

All it takes is your coffee money to help.  Please read her story...

A new day has come...

For the past 6 months (and for most of my life as a former fat person) I have been on a quest.  A hunt for the elusive 175 pound man.  That man is me.  However, after 10 hours a week of cardio, 5 hours of weights and P90X, that man is as elusive now as ever.  For all the sweat and time, I have only seen a loss of 9 pounds.

So as of today, I am giving up that quest.  I am accepting that I will not be 175 until I am probably 70 and by that time I won't really give a shit.  I won't be worrying about spandex and best times and how I look.  I will be just happy to be alive.  I am relenting.  I am giving in to genetics.  I am embracing the muscle and will return to the meat head I have been in years past...before the skating, before the cycling.  To a time when my biceps were the size of my legs and my legs were as big as my chest and my chest rivaled those of professionals.  Yup, here comes the protein and creatine diet once again.  It works, it has always worked and there is just no use fighting it anymore.  The battle for the inner skinny guy is over.

Yay for 1 year olds.

I got to participate in the first birthday activities of cutie pie baby Eowyn this past weekend.  Lots of food and cake was consumed.  Looking back, I should have taken some cake for the road.  Darn.

Here is a pic of the birthday girl.

Every once in a while...

...you come across a song that pretty much sums up what has been happening in your life.  This is one that I could have written myself over the past year.

Tune up time?

With spring upon us, I am slowly glancing at the bike more and more these days.  It is currently hiding in its little corner of the apt almost giddy with excitement as the sun shines through the window.  My question is this however....I had the bike tuned up late in the season last year.  About September time.  Should I bother with another spring time tune up in the coming weeks?  Is it worth it?  Hmmm.  Not sure.  Will have to ask around.

Thinner, hotter, wetter.

Did a two hour spin class tonight which was awesome.  However, I discovered you have to wear some pretty good quality bibs if you are going to suffer non stop through these classes.  I decided to wear a thinner bib that I bought off ebay a few years back.  You know the type, the China specials...  Even though they are pretty nice design wise, they become pretty uncomfy pretty fast.  They do not wick, they tend to hold heat much more and did I mention they are 60% see through?  Ya.  Thankfully I was at the back of the class.  Looks like I will need to break the cycling cardinal rule and buy some black underwear if I want to don these bibs again.  No one needs to see that.

Words don't describe....

This is just beyond any comment I can make.  Horror.
